A Beginner's Guide to Growing an Epic Viking Beard

A Beginner's Guide to Growing an Epic Viking Beard

The first question every soon to be bearded person asks is How do I grow my beard?

The shortest answer to this question is to stop shaving, but of course for a beard worthy of the gods much more is needed than just that, for best results you need special beard care.

Stop shaving

Of course, there's no other way than to stop shaving, but if you already have a 0.5 cm beard, I recommend you shave it off and then grow it. Why? This will ensure that your beard grows evenly.

Give your beard time and don't groom it!

Your beard won't grow overnight, it takes time and patience. There are many people who think that their beard does not grow in certain areas and give up. The fact is that some beard hairs grow more slowly than others, some people grow moustaches the fastest, others grow beards on their cheeks the fastest, so don't give up.

Don't touch your beard for 3-4 months. No grooming! Let it grow. You can only groom the line on your cheekbones and neck(one finger above the adam's apple). I know what you're thinking, I'm going to look terrible, it's true, you will, but every bearded person has been through this stage and you will too. You won't grow a beard if you're grooming nonstop and it'll take 3-4 months to see whether or not your so-called blind spots have filled in. Once you've passed that milestone you can start grooming your beard.

Use the right products

Of course, you won't do shit without beard oil, use it from the start, but don't buy cheap oils because they won't help you as they don't contain all the ingredients needed for a healthy and strong beard growth, our Ymir's Blood oil contains 6 of the best beard oils and they are:

Argan Oil, Meadowfoam Oil, Jojoba Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Castor Oil, Castor Oil, Castor Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Rice Bran Oil.

Wash and dry your beard, then use beard oil (apply to the skin under the beard and to the beard itself). Repeat this every day. Wash your beard with shampoo or beard soap (2-3 times a week), don't use hair shampoos as they will dry out the skin under your beard, Only use beard shampoos and soaps as they are designed to retain moisture in the skin.

When your beard starts to show it self like a beard (about 1cm), start using a wooden comb, a wooden comb is a must! Because plastic combs cause static and consequently a scruffier beard, so start by combing your beard down, do this as regularly as possible to train the hair to grow in the right direction.

You can also use a beard balm because it contains wax and will help you keep your beard in place, most balms contain beeswax, but we use Candelilla wax in our balm, which is a plant-derived wax that gives a little bit more hold. Apply a small amount of beard balm to your hand and melt it, then apply it to your beard and shape it.

Happy growing, and send us a picture when you grow an epic viking beard that is worthy of the gods!
